Welshman Ryan Day began the 2020-21 season with a 147 break at the Championship League in Milton Keynes.
The maximum helped the 40-year-old beat England’s Rod Lawler 3-1 in group two.
Day then beat another Englishman, Paul Davison, 3-0 in his second game of the day to ensure he topped the group and qualified for stage two.
The 147 was the second of Day’s career, the first having come in 2014 at the Haining Open.
Fellow countrymen Mark Williams, Matthew Stevens and Jamie Jones have also achieved the feat.
He and Williams are the only Welsh players to have twice scored maximums.
Day was beaten 3-1 by Stevens in their final group two game. Stevens had earlier drawn 2-2 with both Lawler and Davison.
