Highlands Park head coach Owen Da Gama has revealed that Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) contacted him about coaching the team.

Da Gama said someone from TTM phoned him, during the sale of Bidvest Wits’ Absa Premiership status, but that he told them he is happy at the Lions of the North.

Meanwhile, Highlands are reportedly considering selling their own top-flight status, with TS Galaxy linked to the deal, but Da Gama has assured fans that for the moment it’s business as usual.

“Someone (from TTM) called me some time ago, during the sale,” Da Gama told Phakaaathi.

“But it was not the owner of the club, it was someone with a name I have never heard of, and I told them I am under contract at Highlands Park and happy at Highlands Park.

“All we know is also what we have heard and read about (about the sale of the club). There is nothing official, so from our perspective, we are just carrying on with the team.”

Highlands will take on Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday, 14 August as the 2019/20 season resumes.
